Description

This isn’t just a coin—it’s a smart coin.

A fully 3D printable challenge coin with a hidden NFC chip, designed with a pause-in-print feature so the chip is sealed inside the model.

What makes this one different:

  • Embedded NFC (hidden inside the print)
  • Pause at layer → drop in chip → resume print
  • Fully sealed coin (no glue, no snap needed)
  • Clean two-tone design (perfect for AMS or manual swap)

How it works (super simple):

  1. Start the print
  2. Printer pauses automatically at the chip layer
  3. Drop in your NFC chip (NTAG213/215/216)
  4. Hit resume
  5. Printer seals it inside forever

What you can do with it:

  • Tap → open your website
  • Share contact info instantly
  • WiFi auto-connect coin
  • Smart home trigger
  • Event badge / digital business card
  • Or… cause chaos with a perfectly timed prank

Recommended Print Settings:

  • Layer Height: 0.16–0.2
  • Walls: 3–4
  • Infill: 15–20%
  • Material: PLA (easy) / PETG (durable)

Important Tips:

  • Program your NFC chip BEFORE inserting
  • Place chip flat and centered when paused
  • Don’t move the bed while paused (keep alignment perfect)
  • If your slicer doesn’t auto-pause:
    • Add a pause at height manually in your slicer

Why this design is cool:

Most NFC prints use glue or slots…
This one literally prints the tech inside the object.

It feels like a normal coin—but it secretly does something.

If you print one, drop a make
Curious to see what people program these to do.

May the 4th be with your prints.
