An armored bomber aircraft inspired by classic grimdark sci-fi universes

The profiles include versions with cuts (easier to print but requires assembly/gluing even if connectors are present) and a whole version without cuts, which requires more supports but is oriented to make support removal very easy
I preferred to print the uncut version, and support removal was very simple (the print orientation helps)

Ork-Blitza-Bommer

The base design was generated and prepared with the aid of artificial intelligence, then hand-finished in ZBrush and Blender, decimated and brought to approximately 600K polygons. This process allowed for cleaning the geometries, optimizing proportions, and removing rough errors from the generated model to achieve the cleanest and most pleasant print possible

Details difficult to print with an FDM printer were removed, and a removable interlocking landing gear was added to keep the model balanced. The landing gear has a rather tight fit tolerance; insert it carefully and without using brute force

Printing and Post-production

The model was successfully tested and printed on my Bambu Lab A1 mini, I maximized the size of the model to use my A1 mini, but you can scale the model as desired, if you have more space on the print bed than the 180mmx180mm of the A1 mini, feel free to scale it up, bigger is sometimes better

⚠️ Support removal warning: Given the model's complexity and fine details, I recommend removing supports with extreme caution. I strongly advise using precision tweezers and sharp modeling knives. Proceed slowly, starting from less visible areas, to avoid damaging fragile parts; haste and force are not your friends, calm, patience, delicacy, and the model will emerge from its protective cage safe and sound

Printing Tips

  • Material: PLA (or material of your choice)
  • Supports: Necessary for all suspended parts under the fuselage, for the tailfin, and for the wings
  • Orientation: Optimized to maximize the print area on the small A1 mini
The version with cuts has connectors for assembly; I recommend lightly sanding the connecting surfaces and adding a few drops of glue. With primer and then painting, the cut joints will be practically invisible

I hope you like this model as much as I enjoyed creating and printing it!
If you print it, don't forget to upload your photos; I'm curious to see your creations.
I remind you that I share these models for no profit, but solely for my passion, for my miniature collection, and to keep my printer busy, trying to push the technical level that the A1 mini hardware can give me to its maximum.
The images and applied colors are AI suggestions; unfortunately, I'm not good at coloring my prints, I need to improve. Showing them in photos might cause nausea and abdominal pain to many people, so it's better to avoid exposing my artistic side with a brush

Happy printing
