Technical Description
This is a parametric generator that creates 3D plates with a wavy, ridged texture. By using mathematical patterns, the vertical ridges change height to either submerge the text in valleys or lift it up for visibility. Almost every element is customizable, allowing you to use any text or emojis to create a unique look. The tool automatically centers your design and calculates the correct plate size to ensure a balanced final print.
Customizable Features:
Text and Typography
- Text Input: Enter any name or word; use the "|" symbol to split text into two lines.
- Emoji Support: Use standard characters or emojis by selecting compatible fonts like Noto Emoji.
- Font Selection: Choose from a variety of installed fonts to change the character style.
- Text Height: Adjust how far the text sits above or below the wave peaks to control the "hidden reveal" effect.
Wave Surface Geometry
- Wave Height: Set the maximum height of the ripples on the surface.
- Wave Frequency: Control the number of ripples that appear across the plate.
- Wave Direction: Choose between linear waves (left-to-right or top-to-bottom) or complex combined patterns.
- Wave Detail: Set the resolution of the curves to ensure smooth transitions for high-quality filaments.
Ridge and Slat Details
- Width and Gap: Define the thickness of the vertical ridges and the space between them to manage visibility at different angles.
- Corner Rounding: Add a radius to the corners of the ridges for a softer visual appearance and better light reflection.
- Ridge-Text Integration: Toggle whether the background ridges continue through the text geometry or stop at the letter borders.
Plate and Layout
- Auto-Sizing: Enable automatic calculation of plate dimensions based on the length and size of your text.
- Plate Thickness: Adjust the thickness of the base layer that supports the entire sculpture.
Margin Control: Specify the amount of empty space around the edges of the text and waves.
