Legendary Hero of Hyrule: Tabletop Link
Model Description
Bring the spirit of adventure to your tabletop! This high-detail model of Link captures the legendary hero in a classic pose, ready to face whatever Ganon throws his way. Designed specifically for high-resolution 3D printing, this figure features fine textures on his tunic, intricate details on the Master Sword, and a dynamic base that makes it a standout piece for any fan of the series. Whether you're looking for a centerpiece for your desk or a new champion for your tabletop gaming sessions, this Link model is designed to impress.
Functional Use & History
Link has been the silent protagonist of The Legend of Zelda since 1986, embodying courage and the "Triforce of Courage" across countless incarnations. This specific model is scaled for tabletop gaming and display. It serves as an excellent "boss" or "hero" mini for D&D campaigns, or simply as a high-quality collectible. The geometry is optimized to maintain detail even when scaled down, ensuring that the iconic look of the Hylian hero remains sharp.
Materials & Assembly
To capture the crisp details of Link’s gear, I highly recommend using SUNLU Filament. For the best results on a miniature of this scale, use SUNLU PLA+ 2.0 in Grey or White to provide a perfect canvas for painting: SUNLU PLA+ 2.0. If you want a more premium, non-reflective "statue" look right off the build plate, SUNLU Matte PLA in Grass Green or Deep Blue is the way to go: SUNLU Matte PLA.
If you decide to print this in multiple parts for maximum detail, i recommend ARKA KRAFTPROTZ UNIVERSAL Superglue. It’s the perfect partner for precision bonding on small parts like the Master Sword or shield.
Color & Printing Resources
Since this is a detailed character model, you might want to add custom colors in your slicer. Check out my guide on how to do that effectively: How to Remesh and Color Prints Effectively in Bambu Studio.
If you decide to scale Link up to a larger "statue" size and need to cut him into pieces to fit your bed, I've got you covered with this video: How to Size, Scale, Cut, and Orient Models in Bambu Studio.
Future Uses & Remix Ideas
This hero is ready for your creative touch! Here are some ways you can expand on this model:
- Diorama Base: Create a "Lost Woods" or "Temple of Time" display base using SUNLU Wood PLA.
- Amiibo Base: Remix the bottom of the model to fit on a standard NFC base for your Nintendo collection.
- Low-Poly Variant: Use the remeshing techniques in my videos to create a "Retro" 64-bit version of the model.
- Keywords for Remixes: Zelda, Link, Hero of Time, Fantasy Miniature, Tabletop RPG, Nintendo, Statuette, Gaming Decor.
