š Utility Knife ā Full-Grip & Wire Stripper
The ultimate ergonomic evolution of the original design, now built for a full-hand hold.
The Full-Grip Utility Knife was born out of community feedback and direct requests for a larger, more substantial handle. While the original version focused on a compact 3-finger grip, this version expands the ergonomics to a full 4-finger handle. It is a rugged, high-performance tool designed for makers who need maximum leverage and comfort during demanding tasks.
⨠Why print this?
- Full-Grip Ergonomics: Specially redesigned to accommodate all four fingers, providing a more secure and powerful grip compared to the previous version. This significantly reduces hand fatigue during heavy-duty cutting.
- Built by Request: This version was specifically engineered to meet the needs of users who preferred a full-sized handle for better control and safety.
- Dual-Purpose Utility: Just like the original, it includes the dedicated built-in wire stripping notch, allowing you to prep cables on the fly without reaching for another tool.
- Safety First: Comes with the custom-fitted, snap-on blade guard to ensure your workbench and fingers stay safe when the tool is not in use.
- Two-Tone Aesthetics: Optimized for high-contrast colorsāprint the grips and body separately to create a custom look that stands out in your toolbox.
š ļø Compatibility & Requirements
- Hardware: Requires 6x BT3x8 SHCS Self-Tapping Screws (perfectly compatible with the screws found in the Bambu Maker's Beginner Kit).
- Blade: Precision-engineered for standard trapezoid utility blades. The internal tolerances ensure the blade stays rock-solid with zero wobble.
- Print Optimized: Designed with smart orientation in mind, ensuring a sturdy build and a professional "factory" finish straight off the build plate.
š” Usage Tips
- Pro Tip: For maximum durability, I recommend printing the "Knife Body" with at least 3-4 walls. Using PETG or PLA+ will ensure the screw holes remain tough over time, especially with the added leverage of the longer handle.
- Assembly: Place the blade into the main body first, then secure the blade clamp and the decorative grip plates using the self-tapping screws. Note: Do not overtighten the screws!
