I had been searching for an S-hook that wasn't simply flat, but had a twisted connection between the upper and lower hooks. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a model that truly suited my purpose.

So I created the hook myself.

If you have an idea how the twisted area can be printed more cleanly, let me know.

This model is a customizable, twisted S-hook. Its special shape ensures that the upper and lower hooks are not in the same plane. This can be practical if an object needs to hang in a different orientation or if a normal flat S-hook doesn't fit neatly.

The model is parametrically designed. You can adjust the most important dimensions directly in MakerWorld/MakerLab or in the SCAD code.

Customizable parameters include:

  • upper radius
  • lower radius
  • upper opening angle
  • lower opening angle
  • connection length
  • material thickness
  • twist angle

This allows the hook to be quickly adapted for various applications, such as for rods, mounts, handles, cables, workshop organization, or other situations where a classic S-hook doesn't fit ideally.

Printing Notes

I recommend printing the hook with sufficient wall lines and sturdy infill if it is to be subjected to load. The appropriate print orientation heavily depends on the subsequent direction of load. Therefore, check before use whether the chosen orientation is stable enough for your application.

For simple applications, normal print quality is usually sufficient. For heavier loads, the material thickness should be increased accordingly.

Safety Notice

This model is not suitable for climbing, personal safety, overhead loads, or other safety-critical applications.

Please test the hook with a low load before use and only use it within reasonable load limits.
