This is a remix of the original Filament Track Switch Holder, redesigned to keep everything clean, hidden, and friction-free on the X2D.

❌ The problem with existing holders:

  • The original holder lets the switch stick out from the printer frame — functional, but not exactly pretty 😬
  • Other remixes mount the switch vertically behind the printer, forcing a 90° bend in the PTFE tubes — which adds friction and can affect filament feeding reliability

✅ Why this remix:

  • 📐 Shortened body → switch sits flush with the chassis, fully hidden 🫥
  • 🔧 Extended buffer-side arm → better mechanical stability, no wobble
  • 🪛 Recessed screw slots → no contact with the X2D frame, clean fit
  • 📏 Straight PTFE tube routing → no 90° bends, minimum friction

📋 PTFE tube length — how to dial it in:

  1. 🔩 Screw in the bottom fixing screw first
  2. 🟦 Insert the PTFE tubes into the filament switch
  3. ➡️ Slide the assembly toward the buffer
  4. ✂️ Adjust tube length until the top screw aligns and tightens smoothly

Correct length = both screws seat without forcing. Simple. ✅

🖨️ Designed and printed on X2D — for X2D owners who care about the details.

Modifications from the original design:

  1. Shortened the main body — the switch no longer protrudes from the printer frame, sitting flush with the X2D chassis
  2. Extended the buffer-side arm — provides better support and stability for the filament track switch
  3. Recessed screw slots — prevents the screw heads from touching the X2D chassis, ensuring a clean and secure fit
