Silverfish Trap – End of the line for glittering creatures
Print Profile(1)

Description
The silverfish trap is a passive, chemical-free monitoring and trapping solution for the reduction of Lepisma saccharinum (silverfish) indoors. It uses a protected interior with defined entry geometry that follows the natural movement patterns of the animals along edges and crevices.
Silverfish are guided into the trap by darkness, narrow spaces, and structured edge guidance. Inside, an attached adhesive strip prevents easy escape, so the animals remain there and can be removed later. Optionally, the attractiveness can be increased by moist, starchy attractants such as honey, sugar, paper, or a little moisture. A mixture of sugar and baking powder also ensures the quick demise of the critters if they escape the adhesive strip. Anyone who wants to further expand their population can also use this model as a safe feeding station.
The trap operates without electricity, without toxins, and without active mechanics. It is particularly suitable for areas with increased activity such as bathrooms, kitchens, or basement zones and primarily serves for infestation control and the reduction of local populations.
