Print Settings
We are using a heavily walled and high infill to allow for heavy loads long-term usage. Best guess is to allow for a max of 10-15kg per board.
- 6 Walls (enough walls for the heat inserts to stick)
- 5 Top and bottom layers
- 50% infill (gyroid)
- Supports needed
- 10mm brim with object gap set to 0mm.
- Material: PETG-CF (minimum), ABS, ASA or their variants. (adapter pictured was printed with Elegoo ASA Black)
The corner needs 4 pieces: 2 normal (top-left & bottom-right) and 2 mirrored on z-axis (top-right & bottom left) based on orientation of the STL. The STL provided is for the top-left. The connector also needs to be printed in a pair for each additional board used. No mirroring needed.
Print Orientation
Since the parts will have a downward and outward force being applied to it, printing it flat will, over time, introduce cracking and cause failure by sheer force (the nubs that notch into pegboard holes will be the first to go). So it needs to be printed on its side so the layers are perpendicular to the downward direction. See the attached 3MF file (Bambu Lab P1S compatible) for how the parts are oriented.
STLs have been pre-oriented.
Setup
Each adapter will need their respective amount of M4 brass inserts to be installed. Corners have 3 (2 for the cover plate, 1 for the pegboard, Joiners have 5 (3 for the cover plate, 2 for the pegboard).
Installation
All parts are designed and oriented so that the super clamp's handles are hidden behind the pegboard for a cleaner appearance. We recommend 3 pegboards for this setup and will assume that (and the use of tension rods) for the instructions.
- Attach the adapter plates to your clamps. Secure with 1/4-20 screw.
- Take 2 clamps with single corners and and secure to the poles/tension rods. 1 for each.
- Attach the adapters to the top right and top left corners of pegboard #1. Secure with stock skadis M4 screws.
- Attach the corner cover plates to the corners with 2x M4 x 20mm SHCS screws each.
- Attach and loosely secure the first pair of clamps with the joiner connector. 1 for each.
- Secure the bottom corners of pegboard #1 with stock skadis M4 screws.
- Secure the joiner connector clamps.
- Attach the top corners of pegboard #2.
- Screw in the joiner cover plates with 3x M4 x 20mm SHCS screws each.
- Attach the second pair of joiner clamps.
- Secure the bottom corners of pegboard #2 with stock skadis M4 screws.
- Attach the top corners of pegboard #3 with stock skadis M4 screws.
- Screw in the joiner cover plates with 3x M4 x 20mm SHCS screws each.
- Attach the last pair of corner clamps.
- Secure the bottom corners with stock skadis M4 screws.
- Secure the clamps.
- Make all handles point down, except the bottom clamps, make them point up so they are hidden away.
- Take the assembly and place the top ends of the poles against your ceiling and push the bottom ends towards the wall.
Please allow enough space for the clamps.... they're thicc boys.
NOTES:
I have noticed that some skadis boards will have some tolerance issues between board sizes. I found the holes in the 56x56cm board is much tighter than on the 76x56cm board. I have also given enough allowance for the board to be a comfortable fit especially with material shrinkage that comes with ASA/ABS.
