Description
AIM-120 Fuselage Mount
This model represents a fuselage mount for AIM-120 air-to-air missiles. It was developed as a functional addition for modern jet models, enabling more realistic armament configurations, especially on fuselage stations.
The geometry of the mount was designed to be stable and reliable to print, while also ensuring a harmonious integration into the overall appearance of the aircraft.
Applications
The mount allows for the installation of AIM-120 missiles directly on the fuselage, thereby significantly expanding possible loadouts.
It is specifically designed for use on the F/A-18 and fits perfectly in the corresponding fuselage position. In combination with an ATFLIR Pod on the opposite side, a particularly realistic and balanced operational configuration is created.
Compatibility
This model is currently compatible exclusively with the F/A-18. Use on other aircraft is currently not intended or possible.
Design and Printing
The mount was specifically optimized for 3D printing, offering a good balance between stability and level of detail.
It can be reliably produced on common FDM printers and is designed for easy assembly.
Integration
In combination with suitable AIM-120 missiles and the ATFLIR Pod, a significantly more realistic overall appearance is created, which is ideal for dioramas, displays, or individual loadouts.
Development
This model was independently developed and specifically optimized for 3D printing. The focus was on stable construction, good printability, and harmonious integration into aircraft models.
