🎬 Overview
Compact version of my Photo Slider: an object that transforms simple photos into an interactive experience.
By turning the knob, images scroll in sequence, creating a dynamic and engaging effect, like a small analog presentation.
This version is designed to be:
- smaller
- faster to print
- more accessible
⚙️ How it works
Photos are glued onto palettes that rotate around a central cylinder.
By operating the knob:
- the cylinder moves
- the images scroll one after another
Total capacity: 24 photos
🧩 Components
The model includes:
- Case / container
- Main cylinder (part + counterpart)
- Small wheel
- Small wheel cap
- Knob
- Knob wheel
- Knob wheel cap
🔧 Assembly
- Simple and intuitive assembly
- The wheels must be fixed with their respective caps
- It is recommended to use a small amount of glue
- Allow to dry completely
⚠️ For smooth scrolling:
- lightly sand the case openings
- finish the cylinder housing
- check the knob insertion
🖨️ Print
- Material: PLA (tested in gray and red)
- Total print time: approximately 12 hours
- Supports: only for the case
- tree supports recommended
Post-processing:
- easy support removal
- light sanding recommended
📸 Photo specifications
- Format: 1:1 (square)
- Size: approximately 53 x 53 mm
Tips:
- align photos with the outer edges of the palettes
⚠️ Important notes
- The palettes can be delicate
👉 avoid bending them too much
✔️ Recommended to print some extra palettes
- Photos completely fill the internal space once mounted
- Replacement is possible, but requires attention

- Object: approximately 75 x 75 x 102 mm
