IRIS-T Short-Range Air-to-Air Missile – Scale 1:48

This model represents the IRIS-T in 1:48 scale and was developed as a detailed addition for modern jet models. It is ideal for depicting realistic short-range armament and complements existing loadouts with a modern, highly agile system.

The characteristic design of the IRIS-T, with its compact proportions and distinctive control surfaces, has been replicated as faithfully as possible. At the same time, the model is designed to be reliably produced on common FDM 3D printers and offers a stable structure.

Possible Applications

The IRIS-T is intended for mounting on wing pylons and is particularly suitable for realistic close-combat loadouts of modern jets. It is used, among other aircraft, on the Eurofighter Typhoon and therefore fits particularly well with corresponding models.

Currently, the images are taken on an F/A-18 because I do not have a COBI Eurofighter available. The assembly here serves only to illustrate the size and positioning.

If you mount the IRIS-T on a Eurofighter or another suitable model, feel free to post a picture in the comments.
If you agree to me using your picture, please briefly mention it 👍

Compatibility

The model was designed to visually integrate well with the style of COBI 1:48 scale aircraft and can be used flexibly.

Background: IRIS-T

The IRIS-T is a modern short-range air-to-air missile characterized by high maneuverability and advanced sensor technology. It is used by various air forces and is considered the successor to older systems in this category.

Development

This model was designed at the request of Kit2925 and then specifically optimized for 3D printing. The focus was on good printability, stable construction, and the most realistic implementation possible in 1:48 scale.

F18C (not compatible with the fuselage mount) Amazon

Cobi offers the individual jets in many different (especially color) versions, which should not affect compatibility with my models, with a few exceptions (see above). If you find any other exceptions, please feel free to write to me!
