Customizable Modular Key Hanger with Shelves – Expand It Your Way!
 

🔑 Why I Designed This

I wanted to create a simple, clean and practical key hanger that could easily adapt to different needs.

Most key hangers have a fixed number of hooks and offer only one function. I wanted something more flexible — a hanger that could be adjusted in size, offer more storage options, and still look minimal and tidy.

So I designed this modular key hanger that can be freely expanded or reduced by changing the number of hook elements. In addition to the hooks, it also includes two small shelf areas that are perfect for glasses or other small everyday items. 🧩✨

⚙️ How to Customize & Print

This model is fully customizable.

To create your own version:

1. Click Customize.
2. Choose the number of hooks and the spacing between them.
3. Download the generated model as an STL file.
4. Download the main print profile:
   keyHanger 6 on back _ 4 on front
5. Open the profile and replace the original model with the STL generated by the Customizer.
6. Keep the new model in the same position and orientation as the original one.

Unfortunately, I was not able to include the required support settings directly in the Customizer, so this extra step is needed.

⚠️ Important:
If you do not use the provided print profile, remember to enable supports manually.
Without supports, the print may fail.

🛠️ Design Features

Fully customizable layout – Add or remove hook segments depending on how many keys you want to hang.

Hooks on the front and back – The design allows using hooks on both sides, giving you more flexibility and capacity.

Modular construction – The hanger can be expanded or made smaller without redesigning the whole model.

Two additional shelf areas – Besides the key hooks, the model also features two practical shelf spaces, ideal for glasses, sunglasses, small accessories, or other lightweight everyday items.

Top shelf for extra storage – The upper shelf can be used for small objects you want to keep close at hand.

Clean and simple look – Minimal design that fits well in a hallway, garage, workshop, office or near the door.

Practical everyday use – Perfect for keys, small keychains, garage remotes, tags, glasses, or other lightweight accessories.

Easy to print – Designed with 3D printing in mind, with simple geometry and a functional shape.

Material efficient – Uses only the amount of filament needed for the selected size and configuration.

📏 Dimensions

Dimensions depend on the selected configuration and number of hooks.

You can make it smaller for just a few keys, or expand it into a larger organizer with more hooks and additional storage space.
 

⚠️ Warning

This model is designed for keys and lightweight accessories only.

Do not overload the hooks or shelves with heavy objects. The strength depends on the printed material, print settings, wall thickness and mounting method.

🔩 Assembly / Installation

Assembly depends on your selected configuration.

Choose the number of hook elements you need, print the parts, and arrange them in the layout that works best for you.

Mount the hanger securely to the wall or another flat surface depending on your setup.
