Description
This is the XL version of my alternative case concept for the M5Stack Cardputer Adv with an external 2.8 inch SPI TFT display.
The original version was designed for a 2.4” ILI9341 display, but this updated version uses a larger 2.8” screen with a redesigned upper display housing.
Like the original project, this design replaces the original bottom cover with a fully reversible custom solution that integrates the hinge mechanism directly into the case.
The display opens like a Nintendo DS while keeping the whole mod clean and modular.

Hardware & Assembly
* Display: 2.8” SPI TFT display
* Hinge axis: M3 screws
* Display mounting: M2 screws
* Wiring must be adapted manually
* The 2.8” display PCB must be shortened by approximately 6 mm to fit the case correctly (see reference photos)
Printing Notes
* Supports required
* Drill hinge holes with a 3 mm drill after printing
* Carefully clean support material around small holes and hinges
Important Notes
* This is still an experimental prototype
* Geometry and mechanics may change in future versions
* More improvements and cable management updates are planned
