I present my MeshCore Nesting Box – an inconspicuous Stealth Repeater for MeshCore or Meshtastic networks based on the Seeed Studio XIAO nRF52840 & Wio-SX1262 Kit

The idea behind it: to **kill two birds with one stone** – create a functional nesting place for birds and simultaneously operate a discreet outdoor repeater that blends harmoniously into the environment

For autonomous operation, a CN3791 MPPT Solar Charge Controller is used together with 2x 18650 Li-Ion batteries. This makes the system ideal for energy-efficient long-term outdoor installations

Recommended minimum dimensions inside the nesting box:

  • 82 mm width
  • 250 mm height

The nesting box used is a purchased model and was adapted for the integration of the technology

Important: Please ensure that repeaters are only installed where permitted or approved. Each individual remains responsible for the operation and installed technology
