Description

A fully parametric nameplate generator built in OpenSCAD. Enter a name, pick your dimensions, and print. Great for schools, workshops, parties, or any event where people need to know who's who. No more scribbled paper cards that get crumpled, stained, or lost by the end of the day..

 

 

 

Comes in two mounting styles

Standing nameplate 

Sits on a table or desk, no tools needed.

 

Pin card 

Clips onto clothing with a standard safety pin, using a built-in hook on the back (hook_d: 5.5mm / hook_w: 5.5mm).

Dial in exactly what you need with the parametric options: width, height, thickness (default 1.4mm), and of course the name itself.

 

Print settings

No supports needed. PLA works fine. The default 1.4mm thickness keeps print times short so you can batch a full set quickly.


Parameters

ParameterDescription
card_typeSwitches between the two modes. fold produces a standing tent card, pin produces a wearable badge
show_nameToggle the name on or off. Set to false for a blank plate you can write on by hand
name_textThe main name displayed on the plate
show_subEnables a subtitle line below the name
sub_textThe subtitle text, only shown when show_sub is true. Good for a class, team, or role
font_nameFont used for both name and subtitle. Accepts any font installed on your system in OpenSCAD format
name_sizeName text size in mm
sub_sizeSubtitle text size in mm
text_depthHow deep the text is embossed into the plate, in mm
plate_widthTotal width of the plate in mm
panel_heightFor fold cards this is the height of each panel. For pin cards this is the total card height, in mm
thicknessOverall plate thickness in mm. Default 1.4mm keeps prints fast for batches
hinge_tThickness of the thin ridge at the fold point. Minimum 0.4mm recommended for FDM printing
hinge_wWidth of the taper zone on each side of the fold ridge in mm
border_enableAdds an embossed border around the plate
border_insetHow far the border sits from the edge of the plate in mm
border_widthThickness of the border line in mm
border_depthHow deep the border is embossed in mm
symbolEmbossed decorative symbol in each corner of the front face.
