Changelog

26.06.2026

  • Added second print profile for thicker sleeves (card dimensions in profile description)
  • Added card dimensions to standard print profile description

----------------------------------------------------

With this frame for planet cards, reinforcements can be attached to planets, so they are now physically connected and form a solid unit. No more annoying slipping and a better overview in your player area! If control of a planet with reinforcements changes, the planet, along with its frame and attached reinforcements, is simply handed over to the new player

The frame is designed so that reinforcements can be inserted behind the planet card into the frame (as intended by the rules). The planet itself is placed on top of the frame. It features fixing corners for the planet, so it stays on the frame and doesn't immediately fall off, yet can still be easily removed to flip the card when using the planet for resources, influence, or tech specialization

The frame comes in three variants: one for attaching a reinforcement below the planet card, one for attaching a reinforcement above the planet card, and a third variant for both, one reinforcement below and one above the planet card. The frame thus offers space for one or two reinforcements. Since, in my experience, it's rare for a planet to have more than one or two reinforcements, this is currently not planned for my model. Feel free to give me feedback on this, I'm eager to hear it :)

I tried to design the model as minimalistic as possible to maintain an optimal "card feel". The frame variants with one reinforcement are just under 4mm high, the variant with 2 reinforcements is about 5.6mm. The frame is printed in one piece; nothing needs to be assembled or glued

I designed the frame for sleeved cards; for TI, I use Mayday Games sleeves (the thin ones, not the thicker sleeves). If the frame is needed for unsleeved cards (please no! :P) or for thicker sleeves, I can gladly provide variants for these, just let me know :)

What's next

I will soon create a storage box for the frames to neatly store them. I've planned a box for 6 frames per variant. What's your experience with this? Are that many needed? Or even fewer? Feel free to write me your opinion on this too :)

Boost Me (for free)

I hope some of you like the idea and are happy about it! Feel free to leave me a boost :)

Footnote: Sorry for the AI slop in the cover image, unfortunately it distorted the cards a bit, but I wanted a catchy image to start with and thought I'd try AI ;) happy printing!
