Many people on social media use idle easels and picture frames to DIY staghorn fern mounts. However, sourcing parts for this can be troublesome, so I designed and modeled a 3D Printed staghorn fern mount + easel.

Due to printing size limitations, only a mini version has been made so far, suitable for small ferns. See the print profile for details on dimensions.

Staghorn fern mounts manufactured with FDM technology have many advantages: the mount area only requires tens of grams of filament, making it much lighter than traditional wooden or ceramic frames, less prone to falling due to its own weight. PLA or PETG materials have good water resistance and are less likely to accumulate water or mold compared to wood.

Notes:

This model is still being optimized... I will continue after I wake up tomorrow.

Installation guide is being prepared, but everyone should be able to install it. The card slots require some force, especially if using PLAwood.

PLA was used for printing tests, PETG has not been tested yet.
