Gear Tooth Counting Gauge - Module 0.5 Spur Gears
Print Profile(2)

Description
This is a simple print to help count the number of teeth on spur gears with a module (MOD) of 0.5. To use the gauge, take a gear and find the hole it will just fit into/pass through, then read the number next to the hole.
I made this tool to help sort through and find the correct gears from packs of assorted plastic gears I have purchased for use in various projects. I have put links to some example listings below if you are also interested in purchasing these types of gears.
Note that the sets of assorted gears I have purchased have all only had gears with an even number of teeth, hence this gauge only has even numbers - if in doubt, you should count the teeth the old-fashioned way.
I have included two profiles:
- Single Colour - as seen in the photos. I ran a Sharpie (permanent marker) over the top of the text to give it some contrast.
- Dual Colour - for anyone who wants to print the text in a different filament.
The notch in the top corner of each circular cut-out is to ensure the seam is placed in that sharp corner, rather than along the smooth circular walls, which could interfere when fitting the gears.
Here are some links to examples of the types of assorted gear packs you can buy - please note I have not purchased from these links, so cannot verify quality or value. They are very useful for hobby projects, and if you use similar keywords you can find listings with other quantities, types of gears, other accessories/useful parts, etc.
