Description

I've spent a lot of time looking around for good print settings for various filaments and there aren't many out there, so I decided to share mine as I make them.

This is a fully calibrated and optimized profile for SUNLU PETG Basic - White. This was done on a Bambu H2D with the 0.4mm hardened steel nozzle using Bambu Studio v2.6.0.51. I used freshly dried filament for all calibration runs. If you're getting inconsistent results with PETG, dry your spool first as PETG is hydroscopic.

I used the wonderful model “Calibration Cube XYZ with bridging test” made by DJL_3Designs as a test model that can be found here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/911446-calibration-cube-xyz-with-bridging-test?from=search#profileId-872471

It's a quick and solid check for calibration quality - especially bridging - and you should give them some love.

I also used the “Even More Improved Bambu Studio Flow Calibration” model by brainnxdomain that can be found here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1752296-even-more-improved-bambu-studio-flow-calibration?from=search#profileId-1863047

Calibration values:

  • Nozzle Temperature: 270°C
  • Flow ratio: 0.98
  • Pressure advance (Factor K): 0.028
  • Max volumetric speed: 22 mm³/s
  • Retraction length: 0.4mm with Spiral Z Hop and wipe enabled

I also included my high quality print process settings in the .3mf file along with the filament and cooling settings. You will have to either create a custom filament or edit one of the existing filament settings. Here are screenshots of what to use:

How to use this profile:

Click Open in Bambu Studio or download the .3mf file and open it (File → Open Project).

If you're on an H2D, you should be good to go. Just load the profile.

If you're using a different printer, select it from the dropdown. When you switch printers or filaments with the profile loaded, Bambu Studio may ask you about modified values. Choose "Use Modified Value" to keep my settings from getting overwritten. This is important or you'll lose the tuned settings. The print settings are tuned for surface quality, layer adhesion, and wall strength (not speed).

Next, go to your Calibration tab and choose Manage Result at the bottom. Create a new entry and fill in the Factor K value of 0.028. Name it whatever makes sense to you (I went with "White" for mine). Choose your SUNLU PETG filament or whichever one you want to use for this from the dropdown and hit Save.

Feel free to ask any questions and I'll do my best to answer. If this was helpful, a boost goes a long way, and it does help me with MakerWorld points if you download and print the model, so I'd appreciate it even if you don't need the cube itself.

I plan to keep posting these as I calibrate more filaments. The more well received they are, the more motivated I'll be.
