French Cleat Painting wall mount (magnetic)

A simple magnetic picture hanger that you can print quickly and easily on any printer. Suitable for use with 6×3 mm cylindrical magnets.

The print consists of two parts:

1. The first part (blue) is designed to be mounted on the wall. The magnets here are movable to allow adjustment along the X‑axis.
2. The second part (grey) is meant to be glued to the inner structure of the frame so that its longer side sits flush with the wall when the picture is hung.

Procedure:

1. Attach part 1 to the wall using a pre‑installed wall plug. Place a level against it and adjust until perfectly horizontal. Then tighten the screw so that part 1 is firmly fixed.
    

   

   

   

   
   
    

2. Glue part 2 to the inside of the picture frame so that its longer side faces outward.
    

   

   

   
    

3. Once the glue has dried, hold the picture up from above so that parts 1 and 2 snap together magnetically. After hanging, you can still fine‑tune the position along the X‑axis by sliding the magnets.

   

   
    

4. Use a level again to make sure the picture is perfectly horizontal.

   

Recommendation: Print on a smooth plate.

The 3mf print file already includes a pause for inserting the 6×3 mm magnets. Be sure to insert all magnets with the same polarity so they attract correctly when the picture is mounted.
