his is a remix of Destiny 2 Thorn by JabbaTheDuck, so a big thanks to them for the original upload.

I was asked to remix the model to a specific display size and create a matching stand for it. Because Thorn deserves better than just being left on a shelf like some cursed space paperweight.

This remix includes a custom display stand featuring Hive-style runes and the Thorn Grimoire quote:

“To rend one's enemies
is to see them not as equals,
but objects — hollow of spirit and meaning”

The stand was designed to suit the resized Thorn model and give it a proper dark, cursed-weapon display vibe.

What I Changed

Resized the original Thorn model to suit the requested display size
Created a custom display stand
Added Hive-style runes to the front and sides of the stand
Added the Thorn Grimoire quote to the top of the base
Separated the green spheres so they can be printed separately
Made the model easier to paint and finish as a display piece

Printing Notes

The green spheres have been separated from the main model so they can be printed in green filament, resin, or painted separately.

On my finished version, the spheres were coated in clear resin to give them a glossy, glowing look. Sadly, they do not actually contain forbidden Hive magic. Probably for the best.

Finishing Notes

The version shown in the photos was:

Filled and sanded
Airbrushed with matte black primer
Finished with Silver Leaf Rub ’n Buff
Detailed with gold and brown tones
Green spheres coated in clear resin

This model really benefits from post-processing. Filling, sanding, priming, and dry brushing/Rub ’n Buff make a huge difference to the final look.

Important Note

The original model is a little rough in places, so I would not really recommend printing this unless you are planning to fill, sand, and finish it properly.

It can absolutely look great once cleaned up, but this is not really a “print it, pull it off the bed, done” type of model. It is more of a “sand it, swear at it, paint it, then suddenly it looks awesome” type of project.
