Description
1. The Peculiar, Even Mysterious, Hat
Jotaro's hat is one of the biggest mysteries in the anime world. Ever since his appearance in Part 3, the back of his hat seems to be fused with his hair; even when the hat tears, hair strands emerge from the opening. Once, Hirohiko Araki sensei answered this question in an interview, saying: "Jotaro's hat is actually a part of his body, symbolizing that he will not bow down to anyone." However, in manga details, Jotaro actually takes off his hat when bathing and sleeping. As for the miraculous fusion effect at the back of his head, it can only be said that he is simply too cool, so even his hat has to obey his "gravity."
2. The Doctor of Oceanography and His "Bizarre Thesis"
The seventeen-year-old delinquent from Part 3, who Ora'd his way through D'Arby the Elder and Dio, surprisingly grew up to become a rigorous Doctor of Marine Biology. When he appeared in Morioh Town in Part 4, he was actually investigating the arrow left by Dio while writing his thesis by the sea. His most famous achievement was successfully writing a graduation thesis on "The Group Behavior and Ecology of Narwhals". Imagine a tough guy, one meter ninety-five tall, whose gaze could make gangsters cry, gently observing starfish and whales by the sea with a notebook – this kind of gap moe is simply unbeatable.
3. The "Bluff" Seen Through in a Second: The Astounding Bet with D'Arby
On the Stardust Crusaders' journey to Egypt, Jotaro's bet with the gambler D'Arby, a gamble for souls, was the pinnacle of psychological warfare. At that time, Jotaro used his own, his mother's, Avdol's, and Polnareff's souls as stakes, even pressuring D'Arby without knowing his own hand, all without batting an eyelid. He appeared so confident and calm that he even leisurely lit a cigarette, and Star Platinum swiftly poured him a glass of juice, making D'Arby firmly believe that Jotaro had cheated with Star Platinum to get a perfect hand. As a result, D'Arby was so terrified by Jotaro's "poker face" and aura that he suffered a mental breakdown, spitting blood and fainting. In reality, Jotaro's hand was a collection of completely unusable bad cards – he was purely bluffing.
4. The Unique Cigarette Trick
In the early part of Part 3, Jotaro was still a typical "delinquent high school student" (though his sense of justice was overflowing). He had a hidden special skill: he could hold five lit cigarettes in his mouth at once and ensure they didn't go out while drinking juice. This nonsensical little trick was strongly requested by Polnareff to be shown in the manga, becoming one of the rare lighthearted moments for the Stardust Crusaders during their high-pressure, arduous journey to Egypt.
5. The Gentleness Hidden Behind "Yare Yare Daze"
What Jotaro most often said to women was "Shut up" or "Good grief (Yare Yare Daze)." He even maintained this attitude towards his own mother, Holy. But in reality, his "mind-reading" and initiative were unparalleled.
- The initial motivation for him going through all the trouble to defeat Dio in Egypt was to save his critically ill mother.
- In Part 6, "Stone Ocean," to protect his daughter Jolyne Cujoh, he, who was usually absolutely invincible, repeatedly found himself in desperate situations by physically blocking fatal attacks for her.
The Essence of Star Platinum: Many believe Star Platinum symbolizes destructive power. However, Araki sensei once mentioned that Stands often reflect the user's inner world. Jotaro is actually extremely introverted and not good at expressing emotions, and Star Platinum's "high precision" (ability to catch bullets, perform delicate surgery) precisely shows that Jotaro is an incredibly subtle and gentle person at heart.
