Description
An optimized version has already been released, which you can find on my homepage. At the time, I didn't know how to use the backend, so I uploaded the optimized version separately instead of combining them. This version is kept here more as a commemoration of the first drawing I uploaded.
The only difficulty with this item was trying to create a hinged structure that also looked good. I couldn't find a suitable design on the market, nor could I find one on MakerWorld, so I made one myself.
I also didn't want to drill holes in my glass, so I simply removed it and replaced it with a 3mm thick acrylic sheet. The outdoor and indoor interlocking parts are designed to be 20mm long; with the acrylic sheet, there's still 17mm left for interlocking, and it fits perfectly snugly.
I tested about six or seven versions of the hinge and ultimately found that printing them separately yielded the best quality. However, after printing, due to the increased quality and strength of each part, installation is not very easy, especially the hinge area. If it doesn't fit, you can try cutting about 0.5mm with a utility knife.
