I offer you a motorized version of the strandbeest.
The initial model is great and very well designed, and I thank the designer for it. But it needs wind!
For it to work without wind, my solution is to replace the large propeller with:
an electric motor (see nomenclature, sold by Bambulab),
and in the .3mf file I attached:
- a motor mounting part,
- an axle with a pinion,
- a shaft coupling ring with the motor.
I hope the photos I posted above will be enough for you to understand the assembly. If necessary, I can add more.
You will also need a smartphone charger block for the motor's power supply.
All other parts are from the original model.
Obviously, even if the motorized strandbeest becomes independent of the wind, it is connected by a cable. But this cable can be long, giving it great freedom of movement.
