Ubiquiti, AP bracket

This custom bracket, designed for Ubiquiti U6 and U7 ceiling-mounted APs, uses the original metal disc base as its foundational support. It features a two-color 3D printed structure: the military green base below has a reserved curved slot for routing cables, making it easy to guide and store network cables; the purple vertical plate above is secured with two screws, precisely aligning with the original mounting holes on the disc.
From the moment the physical AP disc was obtained, we measured the arc diameter, screw hole spacing, and buckle limits one by one. During the modeling phase, we repeatedly corrected draft angles and assembly tolerances, revising the 3D drawings five or six times. Print parameters were constantly adjusted through slicing, and several times, prints were scrapped halfway due to tolerance errors and had to be redone. After countless nights spent refining the structure, we finally achieved a stable base, a vertical plate that fits the disc without warping, smooth screw alignment, perfectly converting the ceiling AP to wall-mounted installation. Every corner and opening is the result of repeated trial-and-error and painstaking refinement.

We repeatedly revised several versions of the modeling parameters, fine-tuning hole spacing and fit curvature in the software, and continuously measuring and calibrating against the metal disc's dimensions. It took several nights to finalize the design. From repeatedly correcting buckle tolerances to splitting the two-color printing structure, every boss and opening underwent numerous trial-and-error iterations. After multiple 3D print prototypes and rework, the bracket finally fits snugly to the disc. This finished product embodies the painstaking effort of repeatedly adjusting dimensions and optimizing the structure during modeling.

The original screws are quite long; you can cut them or buy new ones. However, before cutting the screws, thread the nuts on, otherwise they won't go on.
