This Rack-and-Pinion Slide Clicker is a fun and satisfying mechanical fidget toy. It uses a rack-and-pinion mechanism to drive a gear, which in turn actuates a spring-loaded clicker, creating a crisp and highly satisfying clicking sound as the slider moves back and forth. I would recomend using 0.16 mm layerhight otherwise it will might not work.

The design is intentionally overengineered. While a simpler mechanism could achieve a similar result, this project explores additional design possibilities and mechanical interactions. Sometimes, adding complexity isn't about necessity—it's about creating a more interesting and enjoyable mechanism.

Unlike print-in-place designs, this clicker takes advantage of multiple assembled components to achieve a stronger, cleaner, and more satisfying click. If you enjoy mechanical fidget toys, gears, and clever engineering, this model is for you.
