Low-Poly Tracked Backhoe Excavator Fully Articulated Assembly Model

Model Introduction

I noticed that there are hardly any tracked backhoe excavators, and I thought a tracked version would look cooler, so I designed and created this low-poly tracked backhoe excavator, balancing aesthetics and articulation

Model Design Highlights

  • Print-Friendly: No supports overall, no AMS, only some parts have a brim
  • No Hardware Required: All parts are 3D Printed, no hardware required
  • Fully Articulated Design: The doors, seat, front bucket, backhoe bucket, wheels, and tracks are all movable

Recommended Print Settings

For best results, please refer to the following settings

  • Printing Filament: Bambu Lab PLA Matte
  • Print settings: It is recommended not to change the bolded parts (2 walls, 0.2mm layer height, infill 15%~20%, bridge flow 1.5, bridge speed 10mm/s, hydraulic sleeve: enable Brim, outer only, 4mm)

Assembly Instructions

Backup Parts: I have uploaded files for the pins and hydraulic rods scaled down by 5%. If the original parts are difficult to assemble, please download the scaled-down version

Pin Marking: The pins are designed with guiding features; please assemble according to the markings

Assembly Guide

Distinguish part positions by marked numbers, distinguish hydraulic components by length and thickness

  1. First assemble the hydraulic components in numerical order, then install the hydraulic components into the chassis (do not install the tracks first)

  2. First assemble the idler wheels according to the numbers and install them onto the chassis, then place the tracks onto the drive wheels, and install both wheels with the tracks into the chassis together (otherwise, the tracks cannot be installed)

  3. First install the seat into the cab, then fold the cab as shown in the picture, and assemble the operator platform according to the legend

  4. Assemble the front bucket and mechanical arm as shown in the picture

  5. Install the entire front bucket and mechanical arm assembly into the chassis, assemble the pins according to the legend's order

  6. Assemble the backhoe bucket and mechanical arm according to the legend's order

  7. Install the entire excavation module into the chassis

  8. Done!
