Description

Create the exact connection you need.

This generator solves the problem of incompatible threads. Design custom adapters for camera gear, furniture, or mechanical prototypes. Engineered specifically for FDM printing, it features integrated tolerance controls to ensure a perfect fit directly off the build plate.

Core Features

  • Total Modularity: Generate male-male (studs), female-female (couplers), or mixed (reducers/expanders) configurations.
  • Custom Dimensions: Independently adjust diameter (e.g., M6, M8, M10, 1/4", 3/8"), pitch, and length for both ends.
  • Precision Tolerance: Use the radial offset parameter to mechanically tune the fit to your specific printer and filament combination.
  • Hexagonal Core: Integrated center shaft allows for secure tightening using standard wrenches.

Technical Print Guidelines Accurate thread reproduction requires specific slicer parameters.

  • Layer Height: Maximum 0.12 mm (0.08 mm recommended). A fine layer height is mathematically essential for accurately resolving the angled V-thread flanks and minimizing layer stepping.
  • Wall Loops: Minimum 4 walls. Threads experience high shear stress; additional perimeters significantly increase structural integrity.
  • Infill: 30% - 50% (Gyroid or Cubic).
  • Tolerance (Offset): FDM extrusion typically results in undersized internal threads and oversized external threads. For standard PLA, apply a -0.10 mm to -0.15 mm offset in the configurator to ensure smooth threading.
  • Orientation: Print vertically (Z-axis). Use a brim for tall male adapters to maximize bed adhesion.
  • Material: PLA is sufficient for static, low-tension loads. For dynamic or high-stress mechanical applications, PETG, ABS, or PC is highly recommended.
