Description

As a self-professed cheapskate/frugalist, I try to save as much filament as I can, and those bent end pieces add up as you trim them! Additionally, I've found that it can be quite tricky to feed the filament into the AMS Lite if it's bent in any way.

This amazing filament straightener from Hitchabout on thingiverse was exactly what I was looking for since I didn't have any bearings laying around and wanted something easy enough to use with familiar motions!

Simply insert the tip of your filament, thrust it back and forth through the tool in the opposite direction of the bend, and pull it back out!

It can sometimes require a bit of spinning the filament around and going through either hole, but usually results in a straight piece of filament that's easier to feed into your AMS or PTFE tube

For assembly, simple cut a 5-6in piece of PTFE tube, lay it between the two pieces, squeeze it together and apply zip ties where I've marked them below.

You CANNOT feed the PTFE tube into the tool after applying the zip ties, so be sure to add it first.

Thanks for giving this print a shot and thank you to Hitchabout for providing such an easy to use model!
