Description
1/18 TRX4M LCG Buggy Body
This is a custom 1/18 scale buggy body shell designed around my LCG TRX4M chassis model. It features a front hinge system for easy access and magnetic rear mounts for quick, secure alignment.
The design has not been fully tested on the stock TRX4M chassis, but it should be compatible since it uses factory mounting points.
Hardware Required:
- 4× 4x2mm magnets
- 6× M2 x 14mm bolts
- Stock TRX4M front and rear bumper screws
- Super glue (for mounting parts and magnets)
Assembly Instructions:
1. Remove Stock Bumpers
Remove the front and rear stock TRX4M bumpers.
These will be replaced by the body mounts.
2. Join the Body Halves
Use 4× M2 x 14mm bolts to connect the two body halves.
3. Front Hinge Mount
Attach the front hinge mount to the body using the stock TRX4M front bumper screws.
This forms the hinge point, allowing the body to tilt upward for easy access.
4. Rear Mount Base
Glue the small rear mount base (on the same print plate as the body parts) to the back of the shell, as shown in the photos.
Use super glue and ensure correct alignment before bonding.
5. Install Magnets
Glue 4× 4x2mm magnets into the rear mounts.
Make sure polarity matches the body side and that magnets sit flush. Secure with super glue.
6. Rear Mount Installation
Attach the rear mounts using the stock TRX4M rear bumper screws.
This works together with the front hinge and magnets to secure the body in place.
7. Operation
Lift the body from the rear to open it.
The hinge allows quick access, while the magnets guide and hold the body when closing.
Notes:
Designed around an LCG TRX4M chassis.
Fitment on stock TRX4M chassis has not been fully tested and may require minor adjustments depending on setup.
