Modular Organizer for IKEA MICKE
IKEA furniture is generally well-designed and of excellent quality, but sometimes it lacks that touch of practicality that would make it perfect for everyday use.
The MICKE desk is a prime example: it has two spacious drawers that tend to fill up quickly. After just a few months of use, mine were already full of items and, inevitably, quite cluttered.
For this reason, I decided to design a simple, elegant, and extremely functional organizer system.
Modularity First
One of the most important aspects for me was flexibility. The set consists of 4 independent trays that can be freely positioned and combined according to your needs.
Regardless of the chosen arrangement, the organizers perfectly occupy the entire accessible area of the drawer, leaving no unused or unsightly spaces.
Maximum Capacity
The trays have been designed with a height of 70 mm, utilizing almost the entire available height of the MICKE drawer to offer the maximum possible capacity.
Anyone who owns a MICKE desk knows that, despite the drawer being longer, the opening only allows for comfortable use of about 27 cm of its depth.
For this reason, the entire system measures 270 x 235 mm, a size specifically designed to optimally occupy all accessible space.
Module Dimensions
- Large module: 175 x 175 mm
- Medium module: 175 x 95 mm
- Narrow module: 175 x 60 mm
- Small module: 95 x 60 mm
All parts are designed to be conveniently printed on a Bambu Lab A1 Mini with a 180 x 180 mm build plate.
Details that Make a Difference
The trays fit together perfectly, creating an organized and uniform arrangement.
To facilitate their removal, I added a practical front tab that allows them to be easily lifted when needed.
And for those with an AMS (but also for those who prefer a simple color break), the small decorative hearts add a touch of personality that will hardly go unnoticed. ❤️
