Description

This project uses a two-print process that allows the text and car body to be printed in different colors, creating sharp, high-contrast labels without requiring an AMS.

A fun and interesting way to create swatches and color chips for your filament samples

The cars in this series Include the Porsche 911, the Ford Mustang, The Aston Martin DB5, The Mazda Miata, and the Lamborghini Countach.  All icons of automotive history

I hope you like this project the rest of the cars in the series are coming next, Thanks!

My thanks to @marjers, @apoteosick, and Awkward Engineers for their models and all that I learned about Fusion and Printing in general as a result.

Below is a brief explanation of why the shape of the 911 has stayed relevant all this time.

And check out the PDF for even more info about this project

4 STEPS TO PRINT

  1. ENTER YOUR TEXT

    1. From the TEXT LAYER assembly, edit Text 1, Text 2 and Text 3

    2. Next from the CAR BODY assembly, edit that text to match

Note: A “text did not adhere...” warning may be displayed. This is expected and can be ignored.

  2. PRINT THE TEXT ONLY

    1. Hide the CAR BODY

    2. Print only the TEXT LAYER Assembly

  3. PRINT THE BODY ASSEMBLY

    1. Hide the TEXT LAYER assembly

    2. Then show the CAR BODY assembly

Note: To view the debossed text, switch to the Preview tab and select Bottom on the View Cube

    3. Before printing CAR BODY, disable Auto Bed Leveling and Flow Calibration

    4. Print the CAR BODY

Notes:

  • The model has been tested using UPPER CASE text.
  • Print TEXT LAYER and CAR BODY using the same material type for proper adhesion.

THAT’S IT!

The Iconic Porsche 911

The Porsche 911 is one of the most recognizable automotive silhouettes ever created. Introduced in 1964, its distinctive shape has endured for more than sixty years while evolving through numerous generations.

During the late 1970s and early 1980s Porsche explored replacing the 911 with the front-engine 928, but demand for the 911 never faded, and Porsche ultimately reversed course.

Today, the 911 remains the company's flagship sports car and one of the most iconic vehicle designs in history.
