Description

This is a custom 3D printable modular chessboard featuring a bold dual-color design (black & yellow) and a unique interlocking ring system that connects each tile into a single, solid board.

The chessboard is built from individual square tiles that are mechanically linked using circular connector rings placed at the intersections. This design allows for:

precise alignment of all squares

strong structural integrity without permanent bonding

a visually distinctive industrial/grid aesthetic

Each square alternates color, forming a standard 8x8 chess layout, while the outer frame includes engraved coordinates (A–H / 1–8) for easy reference during gameplay.

This is a first version (v1) focused on concept and functionality.

Future versions will improve:

  • connector tolerances

  • surface finish

  • assembly ease

  • overall rigidity

Key Features:

  • 8x8 chessboard layout

  • Modular tile-based system

  • Interlocking ring connectors (press-fit)

  • Two-color print friendly (multi-material or manual swap)

  • Built-in coordinate markings

  • No glue required (optional for permanent assembly)

  • Includes extra parts for convenience: +2 tiles per color and +3 spare connector rings
