Dual clock with Rome - Denver skyline

This project is a dual analog clock designed to display two different time zones in a single object, with a clean and customizable design thanks to city skylines.

It uses the Bambu Lab Clock Components Kit (but not only… ;)

The idea stems from a personal motivation: I designed it for my son, who lives in Rome, and for his American wife, connected to Denver, Colorado. This way, they can immediately know what time it is in the other country, with an object that is not only useful but also symbolic.

The model consists of:

• a main structure;
• two slots for clock mechanisms;
• two separate dials;
• interchangeable decorative skylines.

The original configuration features Rome and Denver, but the project also includes skylines of New York and Seoul, offering more customization options. Seoul can be particularly interesting for those who follow events, streaming, music releases, or appointments related to Korean culture.

The dials are printed separately from the main body to limit multicolor printing to smaller parts and make production more practical. The skylines are also separate pieces, so they can be replaced or customized.

If desired, LEDs can also be placed inside the box to illuminate the clock.

Holes in the back of the box can be used to facilitate opening the box when battery replacement is needed or to hang the clock on a wall.

It is a suitable project as a gift idea, a decorative object, or a functional accessory for those living between two cities, two countries, or two time zones.

Print notes

The dials are separated from the main body to limit color changes to smaller parts. This makes printing more practical and reduces material waste.

The skylines have subtle details: it is advisable to remove them from the plate carefully to avoid damaging the finer parts.

The 3MF file already contains the print settings. Before starting the final print, it is still advisable to check the slicer preview, especially for supports and fits.

Assembly instructions

1. Print all plates.
2. Place the two dials in their respective front slots.
3. Insert the two clock mechanisms from the back and screw them in with the bolt.
4. Mount the hands.
5. Insert the chosen skylines below the dials.
6. Set the two desired times.

If requested, I can consider adding other city skylines, provided the shapes are not too complex to adapt to the project.
