Need a hook for your IKEA furniture that is ridiculously strong, prints in minutes, and requires zero supports? This is it.

 

Designed to fit perfectly into standard 5mm IKEA shelf peg holes (found in Pax, Billy, and most standard modular furniture), this hook locks in tight with absolutely no left-to-right wobble.

 

Instead of traditional round pegs which require supports to print horizontally, this model utilizes carefully calculated square pegs (3.4mm width). The corner-to-corner diagonal distance acts as a wedge, giving you a perfect, snug press-fit into a 5mm hole while allowing the entire model to print completely flat on your build plate.

 

Performance Stats:

  • Load Tested: Holds up to 15kg with standard PLA without bending or breaking. The diagonal support brace transfers the load seamlessly to the vertical spine.
  • Print Time: Only 9 minutes!
  • Material Used: Just 2 grams of filament.
  • Supports: None. Zero. Print it flat.

 

Recommended Print Settings:

  • Material: PLA is more than strong enough.
  • Layer Height: 0.28mm is recommended for a good balance of speed and strength.
  • Orientation: Print exactly as oriented in the file (laid flat on its side).

 

Fully Parametric! Want the hook longer? Taller? Need it to fit a different size hole? This design was created in OpenSCAD and is fully adjustable. You can easily tweak the source code to modify the dimensions to perfectly match your specific project needs.
