Big Key – Zelda: The Wind Waker 🔑🌙👁️
This is my take on the Big Key from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. You find these near the end of a dungeon and use them to unlock the boss door, and I always thought the Wind Waker version had a really cool design.
I kept the crescent-shaped horns, center eye, and layered circular details from the game, then turned it into a larger display piece.
It can be printed in a single color and painted afterward, or printed in multiple colors with AMS.

📌 Perfect For

🔧 Printing Notes
This model prints well in both a standard single-color version and a painted/multicolor version.
Recommended settings:
✓ Use a 0.08 mm or 0.12 mm layer height for cleaner detail
✓ Slow outer wall speeds for the best surface finish
✓ A single-color version works great if you want to paint it later
✓ A multicolor AMS profile is ideal if you want the eye and inner details printed in color
✓ Add a brim if needed for extra stability
✓ Matte PLA works especially well for a clean prop look
If printing the multicolor version, keep in mind that extra color swaps will increase print time and filament waste.
🧼 Before Printing
Please clean your build plate before starting the print. A dirty or oily plate can cause poor adhesion or failed first layers.
Recommended preparation:
✓ Wash the plate with dish soap and warm water, then dry fully
✓ Avoid touching the print surface after cleaning
✓ Use glue stick or liquid glue if your printer normally has adhesion issues
✓ Add a brim if you notice any lifting
✓ Watch the first layer to make sure everything is sticking evenly
For textured PEI plates, a good cleaning is often enough, but glue can still help depending on your printer and filament.
🎨 Color Options
This model looks great in multiple styles:
- Single color for a clean prop or paintable print
- Gold + purple + red + black for a game-inspired multicolor version
- Metallic or matte gold PLA for a more collectible look
If you print, paint, or customize it, I’d genuinely love to see how it turns out!
