I had a sudden idea to make a transparent body cap for the M43 camera body, so that the internal sensor could be observed. After searching extensively on the site, I found that model files for a cap already existed. I only needed to add negative parts of the corresponding specifications to create space for installing a filter. By using the print pause function, a 1.5mm thick, 46mm diameter filter can be embedded and printing resumed.

The tricky part is that the filament used (PETG in this case) does not adhere very well to glass, and because the filter is circular, the first layer on the filter is an almost 'floating' bridge. Therefore, it is essential to reduce the printing speed and turn off the fan to minimize filament warping. Typically, the first two layers might not be perfect, but they will gradually get back on track and will not affect the overall appearance.

Initially, the bayonet mount might be a bit tight. It needs to be mounted and unmounted a few times to break it in, after which it will become smooth. The printed filament will not cause wear to the metal bayonet.
