⚙️ Customizer features:
- Max-Bed Presets: Select one of the presets to automatically generate the absolute maximum size baseplate your specific Bambu Lab printer can fit (e.g., A1 Mini 22x22, 32x32, or 42x38).
- 2 Unique styles: Choose the Classic thin style for standard ground cover, or select the MILS (Modular Integrated Landscaping System) style. The MILS style generates a thicker base with anti-warp hollow cavities and underlying connection tubes, allowing you to click plates directly on top of other bricks!
- Adjustable tolerances: 3D printers extrude plastic differently. The stud_tolerance slider allows you to mathematically shrink the studs by microscopic fractions of a millimeter so your bricks snap on perfectly without jamming or falling off.
- Elephant foot chamfer: Enable elephant_foot_chamfer to slice a microscopic 45-degree angle off the absolute bottom edge of the plate. This guarantees that your baseplates sit perfectly flush next to each other on a table, completely eliminating first-layer squish (elephant's foot) that normally causes a gap.
🧠 Behind the design (For makers & moderators)
To ensure that an enormous 32x32 baseplate with exactly 1024 studs does not crash the slicer or OpenSCAD, this algorithm is heavily optimized.
Instead of boolean uniting 1024 individual meshes, the studs are mathematically mapped using a nested looping array based on the 8.0mm classic pitch. The MILS style uses a high-efficiency 2D-to-3D hull transition to hollow out the cavity, reducing plastic usage by up to 40% while preventing massive flat-layer warping. The anti-elephant foot feature uses a clever mathematical min function to chamfer the outer hull dynamically, regardless of the corner radius selected, ensuring absolute dimensional accuracy across the entire print bed.
🖨️ Print settings:
- Material: PLA. PLA is exceptionally rigid and holds clutch power perfectly.
- Layer height: 0.20mm. (Do not use 0.28mm, as the tiny stud chamfers require finer resolution).
- Supports: STRICTLY NONE.
- Bed Adhesion: If you are printing a massive 32x32 plate that fills your entire bed, make absolutely sure your PEI sheet is clean with dish soap! Large flat plates have a tendency to lift at the corners if the bed is greasy.
Top surface: Enable Ironing in your slicer to make the flat space between the studs look incredibly smooth and factory-molded!
