⚙️ Technical Features & Design
Built to be an elegant, easy-to-print project, this model maximizes performance while remaining incredibly user-friendly:
- Streamlined Assembly: Putting your frog together is a breeze! This new model features a streamlined assembly process and now only uses one single connector.
- NO AMS Needed: A smart multipart design lets you print all parts separately, before assembling them in 7 simple steps.
- One-Plate Printing: The ONE PLATE versions let you print the entire multi-color model on a single build plate with only 3 filament swaps!
- Zero Hardware Required: Unlike traditional designs that need metal bearings or heavy screws, this frog relies entirely on its 3D-printed structure and solid infill to self-right.
🛠️ Step-by-Step Assembly Guide
The assembly process is straightforward and consists of 7 simple steps. For the best results, having some CA glue (superglue) on hand is recommended.
Step 1: Clean the PrintsCarefully remove all support material from the printed parts. Ensure all mating surfaces are clean and smooth for a flush fit. | ![]() |
Step 2: Prepare the BaseApply a small amount of CA glue on the cutout of the bottom piece. | ![]() |
Step 3: Install the Base ConnectorInsert the hexagonal connector into the base. IMPORTANT: Make sure that its bottom side faces the bottom! This is crucial for the final weight distribution. | ![]() |
Step 4: Assemble the BodyApply a little more CA glue in a circular pattern around the base connector. Align both halves of the body and slot them together. Both seams need to face the back. | ![]() |
Step 5: Insert the Belly PanelTake the belly panel and simply press it into its cutout. This step does not require any glue! | ![]() |
Step 6: Assemble the EyesThe eyes consist of the inner and outer parts. They are not cross-compatible with each other, so take care not to mix them up. Insert the inner parts into the outer white parts. | ![]() |
Step 7: Final AssemblyIn this final step, insert the completed eyes and the red mouth piece into the rest of the body. | ![]() |
Step 8: OptionalIf you notice excess bits of green filament on the bottom piece of the belly, trim them off with flush cutters. A perfectly smooth bottom ensures the best, longest wobbles. Done! | ![]() |
