Cassette Retainer for Road Bike Rear Wheels (Placeholder Thru-Axle)
Tool-free freehubs are currently mainstream. When maintaining my wheelset, I found that after maintenance, the cassette easily falls off with the freehub (my gravel bike uses a heavier SRAM T-Type cassette). Therefore, I quickly made a thru-axle placeholder to prevent the freehub from detaching and causing damage to the wheelset and cassette during transport when sending it for tension and truing adjustments.
The applicable specification is 12x142mm thru-axle spacing (if other spacing is needed, please leave a comment in the comments section, or find a parametric generator to create the axle shaft yourself).
There are two configurations: one tight fit with a flanged anti-slip texture (recommended), and one loose fit (easier to screw on but feels prone to loosening).
The wheelset has already been sent out, so please excuse the lack of real photos of it installed on the wheelset.
