What if gunpowder had never been invented?

In this alternate timeline, cannons never replaced mechanical siege weapons. Instead, engineers kept improving catapults and other siege machines.

For this remix, I turned the original T-34 into a mobile siege vehicle inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's designs while keeping the original magnetic modular system.

This model was created for the T-34 Evolution Remix Challenge hosted by Bavaria_3D Tanks.

What was remixed?

Starting with the original modular T-34 platform, I designed a completely new siege module and added several medieval-inspired parts.

New Components

  • Fully functional mechanical catapult
  • Wooden front shield
  • Wooden side armor panels
  • Side mounting beams with hanging chains
  • Wooden loading platform
  • Rear storage crate
  • Basket with removable stone projectiles
  • Side ladder
  • Front assault ram

The original magnetic mounting system has been preserved, so the complete siege module mounts to the T-34 chassis just like the original turret.

Printing & Assembly

  • Optimized for FDM printing.
  • Most parts can be printed without supports.
  • The catapult is assembled using both printed pins and short pieces of 1.75 mm filament.
  • A small piece of string is required for the catapult mechanism.
  • One standard rubber band is required for the trigger mechanism.
  • Stone projectiles are printed separately and stored in the rear basket.
  • Fully compatible with the original Bavaria_3D Tanks magnetic T-34 platform.

Design Story

I wanted to imagine how the T-34 might have looked in a world where mechanical siege weapons continued to evolve instead of firearms. The result is a mobile siege machine with a functional catapult and medieval-inspired equipment, while still keeping the original modular T-34 platform.

Safety Notice

Although this is a toy model, always use it responsibly. Never aim or launch projectiles at people or animals. Use only the included printed stone projectiles and operate the catapult in a safe, open area.
