Description

This is a universal modular cart system designed to let you build a custom rolling base using simple rods or tubes.
In my build, I used wooden broom handles to create a rolling base for a sugar glider cage, but the design can be adapted for many other uses.

The model is built from printed corner connectors that hold the rods in place and provide mounting points for screws and caster wheels.
The size of the cart is not fixed: you can adjust the dimensions by changing the rod length, rod diameter, screw size, screw hole spacing, and other parameters.

This makes the design useful for many projects where you need a custom-sized rolling frame without designing a new cart from scratch.

Hardware Required

For one complete cart you will need:

• 4 printed corner brackets
• 4 rods, tubes, or broom handles
• 4 caster wheels
• Screws for mounting the wheels
• Optional: screws to lock the rods in place
• Optional: washers or nuts, depending on your wheel type

Assembly Instructions

1. Print 4 corner brackets.
2. Cut 4 rods or broom handles to the required length.
3. Insert the rods into the printed corner brackets.
4. Attach caster wheels to the bottom of each corner bracket.
5. Tighten the screws carefully.
6. Place your cage, box, or object on the frame.
7. Test the cart slowly before using it with heavy weight.

Safety Notes

This model is intended for light to medium DIY use.
Make sure the frame is stable before placing any heavy object on it.
For pet cages, test the cart without animals first and make sure the cage cannot slide, tilt, or fall.
Do not exceed the strength of your printed material, rods, screws, or caster wheels.
