The standard plastic grab handles in the headliner are structurally designed only for brief gripping when getting in – not for permanently hanging jackets, towels, or a clothesline stretched across the bus. This model addresses precisely that: It is screwed **under the original grab handle** and transforms it into a fully functional camper feature – **without** restricting the original holding function, without drilling, without gluing.

Ideal for anyone who wants to convert their California, Multivan, Caravelle, Transporter, Kombi, Kasten, or Beach into a true camper van. Mounted in three minutes with the original screws.

## ✨ Features

- **2× Airline mounting holes in standard grid** – directly accommodates any commercially available airline fitting. Eyelet, hook, ring, or carabiner fittings are inserted and locked. This allows a clothesline to be stretched across the bus, a net to be hung, or a heavy jacket to be securely fastened.
- **1× integrated clothes hook** – for small everyday items: keyring, sunglasses, scarf, cap, light jacket. Always within reach, without additional hardware.
- **Precise cutouts for the original screw points** – the part fits neatly around the original grab handle's fixing points. No visible modifications to the trim.
- **Grab handle function remains 100% intact** – the handle feels like it came from the factory when gripped. The extension is clamped between the headliner and the handle without noise or rattling.

⚠️ **Important – two handle sub-types in the T5/T6/T6.1:**
- **Version A (this model):** Fits the standard series grab handle **without** an already integrated clothes hook (usually installed in the front area of the vehicle).
- **Version B (will be released separately if there is sufficient demand):** For the grab handle **with** a factory-integrated clothes hook (typically in the rear area of the vehicle).

## ⚠️ Material Choice – please read carefully

This part is **installed in the vehicle interior** and must function reliably under two conditions that many standard filaments cannot withstand:

**1. Temperature in the vehicle interior**  
A VW bus can quickly reach **60 °C and more** behind the windshield and in the headliner in summer, and significantly higher in direct sunlight. Filaments that soften in this range abruptly lose their dimensional stability under tensile load.

**2. Mechanical tensile load**  
A wet jacket, a clothesline stretched across with towels, or a carabiner with an attached backpack generate continuous tensile forces – precisely where the filament is at its hottest point.

Therefore, please **only use the following filaments**:

| ❌ **PLA / PLA+** | **do not use** | Softens from approx. 55–60 °C – guaranteed critical in a parked bus in summer, part can creep and fail |

If you do not have a hardened nozzle for CF filaments: pure ASA is perfectly sufficient for normal camping use.

## 🔩 Installation (3 minutes)

1. Unscrew the two Torx screws of the original handle
2. Place the printed part **under the original handle** – the cutouts in the printed part fit exactly around the original screw points
3. Reinsert the original screws and tighten them gently (do not overtighten into the headliner)
4. If necessary, insert an airline fitting or carabiner – done

💡 **Screw note:** For me, the **original screws with standard length** were perfectly sufficient. Should the clamping length be too short due to manufacturing tolerances or color variations: get two slightly longer Torx screws with the same thread and head from a hardware store (typically ~5 mm longer than the original is enough).

**Safety note:** Remove inserted airline fittings or carabiners while driving – otherwise, there is a risk of injury to occupants in an accident. The printed part is an accessory for stationary operation (camping, overnight stays, maneuvering while parked), not a safety-relevant component.

 Sources: Camper and boat suppliers (search terms: "Airline Fitting", "Airline Lashing Track", "Airline Floor Rail Fitting"). Price usually 3–8 € per piece.
- **Carabiner hook 6–8 mm** directly for the fitting eyelet
- **Clothesline 3–4 mm with two carabiners** – traditionally stretched across the bus for towel drying
