Description

Growing tomatoes on strings is one of the most common greenhouse techniques—but tying and adjusting the strings can be frustrating.

This printable system makes installation fast, simple, and reusable.

The set consists of two parts that work together:

🌱 Top Hook

The hook clips onto an existing hanging string, allowing you to quickly attach or remove a tomato support line without untying knots.

🌱 Ground Anchor

Tie the support string through the anchor, then push it into the soil beside the tomato plant. The anchor keeps the string under tension throughout the growing season.

Why you’ll like it

  • 🍅 No complicated knots
  • 🍅 Quick installation
  • 🍅 Easy to remove and reuse
  • 🍅 Keeps the support string tight
  • 🍅 Designed for greenhouse tomatoes
  • 🍅 Prints without supports
  • 🍅 Minimal material usage
  • 🍅 Works with standard garden twine

⚠️ Important

For the best results:

  • Insert the ground anchor at approximately 45°.
  • Place it as close to the tomato stem as possible.
  • Make the first wrap of the support string around the stem just above the soil surface.

This allows the tomato stem itself to maintain the tension in the string and helps prevent the anchor from being pulled out of the soil as the plant grows.

I’ve been using this system in my own greenhouse, and it has made supporting tomatoes much faster and easier than tying traditional knots every season.

Happy printing and happy gardening! 🍅
