Anti-Ant Pet Bowl — Water Moat Food Bowl (3 Sizes)

Ants kept raiding my dog's food, so I designed a bowl they physically can't reach. The food sits in a raised central bowl surrounded by a full ring of water — and the moat undercuts the central column at 45°, so ants would have to crawl upside-down over open water to get across. They won't. The moat doubles as the water bowl, so your pet gets food and water in one unit.

Features

• Water moat completely surrounds the raised food bowl — no bridges, no dry path
• 45° undercroft beneath the food bowl for extra ant-proofing (prints support-free)
• Suggested fill line engraved inside the moat wall — fill to the line, leave freeboard so ants can't reach the wall top from the water
• Recessed feet pockets sized for common 13mm (1/2") adhesive silicone bumper feet (3M Bumpon SJ5012 or similar) so the bowl doesn't slide
• Paw print decorations around the food bowl
• Generous fillets in all corners for easy cleaning

Sizes

• 170mm — cats/small dogs, fits A1 Mini
• 240mm — medium dogs, fits A1/P1/P2S/X1
• 300mm — large dogs, fits H2S/H2D

Variants

• Single color: recessed paw prints, one STL, print and go
• Multicolor: 3MF with the paw prints as separate flush objects — just assign them a different filament in the slicer. Add your pet's name to the outer wall with the slicer text tool for a custom touch (see photos)

Print settings

• No supports needed (undercut is 45°)
• PETG or ASA recommended for water contact and easy washing; 4+ walls, 10–15% infill
• Food-safety note: FDM prints have layer crevices — wash regularly, or do what I did and drop a stainless steel insert bowl into the food well
