Oleander Hawk-Moth Suncatcher — Stained-Glass
Print Profile(1)

Description
The Oleander Hawk-Moth is one of the most elegantly camouflaged insects in the world — and in stained glass, that camouflage becomes art. A sweeping palette of teal, sage green, chartreuse, silver, and warm taupe fills broad sculpted wings against deep black leading, the segmented abdomen detailed with teal and yellow-green banding. At 2mm in translucent PETG, the cool green tones glow with an almost bioluminescent quality in backlight — unlike anything else in the collection.
✨ Features

⚠️ Critical Slicer Settings (SVG-Origin File)
These three settings are required for clean panel separation and accurate hole geometry:
- Slice gap closing radius: 0.5mm — Quality → Precision
- X-Y hole compensation: −0.25mm — Quality → Precision
- Wall generator: Arachne — Quality → Wall Generator
Color count: This design uses multiple distinct color zones across all four wing panels and abdomen — an AMS multi-filament system is strongly recommended for best results.
🎨 Color Guide
Colors and filament zone assignments are fully embedded in the 3mf file — open in your slicer to see exact color assignments. Swap any zone to your preferred palette.

💡 Tips & Tricks
- Best display: morning east-facing light makes the cool teal and chartreuse panels glow with an almost bioluminescent quality — this one earns a prominent window spot
- Translucent upgrade: the all-green palette is unusually cohesive in translucent PETG — teal and chartreuse side by side in backlight reads like sea glass
- Scaling for translucency: when scaling up, uncheck uniform scale in Bambu Studio and manually set Z to 2mm to preserve panel translucency
- Outdoor use: PETG is the better choice for covered porch or sunroom windows — UV and moisture resistant
- Pair it: the cool green palette is a natural contrast companion to the warm amber tones of the AGW Cecropia Moth for a striking side-by-side moth display
