Description
What is it?
This design allows AEG players to easily achieve an ESG-style grip, without the need for HPA or substantial modifications to the replica itself. It uses the PTS Enhanced polymer grip (the one with the beaver tail) to avoid a potentially fragile 3D print. The grip angle is about 30°, which is not ideal, but one gets used to it. There are better designs with a more comfortable angle, but they obviously cost more. Therefore, the ALA should be considered a more economical alternative to try this type of grip and style.
In combination with the Ascardia Upper Assembly (AUA) it is possible to create a truly lightweight speedsoft replica. Overall, the "M4 à la AUA" is more of a proof of concept
Why the PTS EPG? It features threaded heat inserts, uses metric threads, and screw length is not as crucial. The motor angle is great for most standard setups. The beaver tail lowers the hand position (which the EPG-C does not do)
Variations
Upper and lower receivers differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. Most differences are noticed at the front takedown pin. The bodies also vary slightly at the back, where the upper receiver engages.
Specna Arms - The upper receiver was originally designed for Specna Arms Edge lower receivers. Therefore, this model has received most of the modifications and adaptations.
G&G - Fortunately, I had the chance to briefly use a G&G SSG1, which led to the creation of a dedicated version for G&G Combat Machine lower receivers. This was a hasty adaptation, so please excuse any inaccuracies (I never printed the final version). Since most Speedsoft replicas are based on G&G lower receivers, this might be useful for some of you.
Cyma / Generic - This is a derivation of the original Specna Arms version. The front block for the takedown pin is 2mm smaller (so no filing is needed). To mount it on a Cyma, you need to lightly file the hole in the opposite direction. Other manufacturers may require different modifications. It is not compatible with Double Eagle lower receivers
