Description

Improved Pistachio Bowl – Less Jamming, More Capacity, Less Filament

There are already many pistachio bowls available, but after using a few of them I noticed several small design flaws. This model is my attempt to improve those issues while keeping the design simple and easy to print.

Improvements

  • Anti-jam shell chute
Below the shell opening, a conical funnel spreads the discarded shells evenly around the lower compartment instead of letting them pile up directly beneath the opening. This greatly reduces the chance of clogging.
  • Optimized upper bowl depth
Many existing designs have an upper bowl that is too deep. A bowl full of pistachios often produces more shell volume than the lower compartment can hold. This version uses a shallower upper bowl to better match the actual shell volume.
  • Larger overall diameter
The bowl is wider, making it more comfortable to reach and grab pistachios while snacking.
  • Reduced wall thickness
Many similar models use unnecessarily thick walls. This design keeps the walls thinner to save material while maintaining good rigidity.
  • Smooth interior for easy cleaning
Decorative exterior patterns often protrude into the inside of the shell container, making it harder to clean. In this design, the interior remains completely smooth.
  • Material efficient
The complete model requires only 157g of filament, making it economical to print.
