Prince Roman the Great (Roman Mstislavich)

Roman the Great (1152–1205) was an important prince of the Rurik dynasty and the founder of the Galicia–Volhynia State. In 1199, he united the principalities of Galicia and Volhynia, creating one of the strongest states in Eastern Europe.
